Do you think the US Military proofread this statement?
It wasn’t clear who initially captured Bergdahl, but the U.S. command in Afghanistan said he was being held by the Taliban and condemned the video as a violation of international law.
“I’m glad to see he appears unharmed, but again, this is a Taliban propaganda video,” spokeswoman Lt. Cmdr. Christine Sidenstricker said. “They are exploiting the soldier in violation of international law.”
I don’t. Because if they did they would’ve realized how hypocritical it sounded. I mean, the US Military can’t say shit about violating international law after invading two sovereign nations, torturing thousands of detainees, dropping bombs on innocent civilians, and bank rolling warlords.
But of course the US Military doesn’t think they’re being hypocritical. No. The US Military thinks it’s doing the right thing. They think they’re a beacon of truth. A pillar of virtue. The sole guardian of democracy. They believe they’re the only thing keeping this crazy world of ours together.
And they’re not alone. Millions of Americans believe their military can do no wrong. They believe US soldiers are soldiers of God, fighting the good fight against Satan and fucking Muslims.
But not me. I know how fucked up our military is. I know how they allow felons and white supremacist to enlist. I know how they allow detainees to be raped. I know how they allow the killing of innocent civilians.
So it’s hard for me to get pissed off at the Taliban for showing the world how the soldier they’ve captured during a war is still alive, is fully clothed, and is being allowed to eat; an example US Military show follow.
Update: Stay classy Fox News.

Here’s a quote from over @ Bob Cesca’s Awesome Blog: “If, when the facts are in, we find out that through some convoluted chain of events, he really was captured by the Taliban, I’m with him. But, if he walked away from his post and his buddies at wartime… I don’t care how hard it sounds, as far as I’m concerned, the Taliban can save us a lot of legal hassles and legal bills.” —Fox News analyst Ralph Peters suggesting that the Taliban should execute American soldier Bowe Bergdahl.

The fog of war seems to have become the goal. You are so right, although it’s not necessary mentioning it to you, unless you need a little acknowledgment, Phuck.
Phuck Politics says:
@Steve – I think the goal is a mixture of the fog of war and the slaughtering of brown people.
Of topic – The Fog of War has to be one of my favorite documentaries.

For all you who don’t like America or don’t support our troops. For all those who constantly bitch about the government but are to chicken shit to stand up in front of a crowed and make a difference… I can look up a few airports if you need help getting the hell out of MY GREAT country, but please remember when you leave that “Only in America can you walk down the street and find at least one person that would die for a complete stranger.” Weather their life is worth it or not. That is what our soldiers and vets have and always will do. They put their lives on the line so you can hide behind your computer and talk shit about them!!!
