Sorry, but he hit the nail on the head, that there is too much money in the war on drugs for it to end. No matter how much sense it makes to legalise them and treat addiction as a health issue, it will never happen in the US.
Once again laci, you use some worn-out phrasing you’ve heard people say and pretend you know what’s up. Your verbose argument shows you know nothing about the issue.
First, the reason it was illegal and demonized comes from the first paper industries in bed with the gov’t vs the ‘other races’ namely mexicans who had the hemp which is vastly more useful than traditional (then emerging) paper products. There is no income in busting drug abusers, and there’s no more ‘money’ in the war on drugs today than any law enforcement – that is a myth. Go google it, it’s all there for you to read about.
I completely agree with Jim, but legalizing marijuana has gotten so much exposure throughout 2000 that we’ve been decriminalizing and making it available medically very quickly considering.
The REAL reason it’s taken so long to get to the point it is today is FEAR from politicians. Fear of being thrown to the dogs is the reason politicians stay away from support of ANY “illegal” drug. They know all about what Jim has said, they know it could generate vast revenue, would ease the legal system, etc if it were managed like alcohol. But it’s been political suicide until recently, and is still considered taboo by most politicians unfortunately – even tho they themselves suck down booze, weed, blow, and whatever else is laying around to get their fix..
There’s a huge upsurge of weed-wise people who do know what’s up, and we’ll continue to see marijuana decriminalized and eventually treated like alcohol is currently.
i’m from the netherlands, you can buy hashish when you’re 18, not 16.. >_>
now they are in fact making drugs illegal here, and to be honest, i did enjoy the legal system (A)
i don’t do illegal ‘drug’, i in fact only use nature, but, yea, my friends started to do all kinds of drugs..
we had weed and shrooms legalised, but since the shrooms are illegal, they are starting to do damn nasty drug.. but it’s easy to buy.. >_<
so.. i hope the dutch people will see what happens.. but thanks to the 'globalization' (in dutch also known as the 'americanization', because that's what is it.. i'm afraid we will go completely wrong..
but, i pray for america, so they could maybe come to sence sometime.. ^^'

Great video and comments. I guess we’ve made some progress with the medical marijuana but it is so awfully painstaking.
I’m with you on this guy for the Supreme Court.

@Mike – Great minds think alike.
