This whole thing is way too surreal for me. I was watching a live stream on board the ship the other night, trying to finish a post, when it went dead. Knowing that all hell had broken loose, falling asleep and waking to the spin doctored news has been quite disorienting. I suppose it’s to be expected, facts don’t matter anymore, just the outcome of a public relations battle that people seem to forget costs lives.

Orthodox hardliners gaining influence faced off against Hamas terrorists both convinced that the best way to win is to provoke the other side into some crazy overreaction. Rocket attacks are answered by embargoes which are answered by more rocket attacks and tunnels which are answered by atrocities such as Operation Cast Lead. It’s clear that the blockade runners were trying to provoke something and predictably the Israelis played along. Where does it end?

Jeez,I am all cut up with sorrow for the Israeli gun-toting-Rambo-wannabes.Diddums fucking do.How they can reason that a suitable reaction to batons,sticks etc, is deadly force and taser guns is beyond me.And that’s before we even start on the argument of international waters and the tragic situation in Palestine.Fuck it,I need a drink.
