McCain vows to help lead ‘loyal opposition’

Sen. John McCain promised Sunday he will work to build consensus in tackling the huge challenges facing the country, and criticized his own party for its latest attack on President-elect Barack Obama.

You’re going to lead a ‘loyal opposition’ to help Barack Obama in tackling the challenges facing the country? How fucking stupid are you? Do you even know what those words mean?

Let me help you:

Loyal (adj) – : faithful to a cause, ideal, custom, institution, or product

Opposition (noun) – hostile or contrary action or condition

Both candidates have gang raped the Constitution while using our money to buy those Wall Street cocksuckers another mansion as Americans are sent off to die in a war that was based on a lie.

I know what some of you are going to say.  “Come on Ron, you have to vote.  I don’t like either candidate too,  but you have to vote for the lesser of two evils.  If you don’t then you don’t get to complain.”

What the fuck kind of thinking is that?  You want me to vote for the ‘lesser of two evils’? What kind of logic is that? Why would I want to vote for someone who is less evil than the other?  Wouldn’t that mean there is still someone evil in office?  Who the fuck wants that?  And the only reason you vote is so you can complain about how much the guy in office is fucking you over?

I can’t wait till this day is over.  I’m sick of hearing  ‘Obama the Socialist’ , ‘McCain the War Hero’, and ‘Joe the goddamn Plumber’. I’m sick of all the old fucking talking points.

The government recently promised the auto industry $25 billion in loans in order to produce more fuel-efficient models. Now, as General Motors and Chrysler consider a merger, executives are hinting at another $10 billion in federal help. Earlier this week, top McCain adviser Carly Fiorina said the campaign opposes any auto bailout:

“I don’t think the government can rescue the industry,” Carly Fiorina, former chief executive of Hewlett-Packard Corp, told Reuters at an event in suburban Detroit.”Whatever the government does, it should not take away the fundamentals of risk-taking. Sometimes it leads to rewards and sometimes consequences, downside,” she said. “In other words, the auto industry cannot be saved from its own bad bets.”

Today, however, interviewed on Good Morning America, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) expressed support for the auto industry bailouts:

Q: We’re finding out that there may be a possibility of some sort of bail-out or government assistance for the auto industry. Would that be something that you would support?

MCCAIN: Well, we’ve already done that to $25 billion, and we’ve delayed getting them the money. I would do whatever I think needs to be done to help our automotive industry. We’ve got to make this transition to flex fuel, battery powered, hydrogen automobiles. And, obviously — and, also, I would provide tax credits for people who buy these new automobiles. We’ve got to keep this industry alive. There’s no doubt about that.

In her interview with Fox News’ Greta van Susteren last night, Gov. Sarah Palin appeared to claim that the U.S. needs to “win” the non-existent war with Iran:

Breaking News: Colin Powell endorses Barack Obama.

Is this really a surprise?   We all knew he was going to endorse Barack Obama because he is black. Let’s see what Powell’s ‘reasons’ were for endorsing Obama:

“I think he is a transformational figure, he is a new generation coming onto the world stage, onto the American stage, and for that reason I’ll be voting for Sen. Barack Obama,” Powell said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

Powell said he was concerned about what he characterized as a recent negative turn of Republican candidate Sen. John McCain’s campaign, such as the campaign’s attempts to tie Obama to former 1960s radical Bill Ayers.

“I think that’s inappropriate. I understand what politics is about — I know how you can go after one another, and that’s good. But I think this goes too far, and I think it has made the McCain campaign look a little narrow. It’s not what the American people are looking for,” he said.

Powell, a retired U.S. general and a Republican, was once seen as a possible presidential candidate himself.

Powell said he has some concerns about the direction of the Republican Party, adding that it has “moved more to the right than I would like to see it.”

In regard to the financial crisis, which Powell called the candidates’ “final exam,” Powell said McCain appeared unsteady in dealing with it, while Obama had excelled in handling the situation.

“Obama displayed a steadiness, an intellectual curiosity, a depth of knowledge,” Powell said.

All you have to do is read between the lines to see what Powell is really saying:

“I’m voting Obama because that guy is black and running for president….plus I hate white people.”

When will racism end? Hopefully when I have kids, they will be able to vote for whoever they want based on negativity and craziness, not skin color.

Breaking news on Friday’s Countdown. Senator Barack Obama’s campaign has written a letter to Attorney General Michael Mukasey asking for an investigation into improper leaks from DOJ officials involving their ACORN investigation and whether or not people within the DOJ, perhaps with the help of the White House, are working in concert with the McCain campaign to further the ACORN myth for his political advantage.

Keith Olbermann talked with an Obama campaign attorney about this brilliant strategy by the campaign — they are linking the ACORN/DOJ scandal with the U.S. Attorney firing scandal. If you will recall, several of the improperly fired attorneys were let go primarily because they wouldn’t play along with Rove/GOP demands that they prosecute bogus voter fraud cases.

Seriously? Olbermann? What does he know?
